Rhône Trip's Art of Wine Tourism: A Blend of Passion and Precision
Romain is a passionate guide who fell into the world of wine 20 years ago and has never left. He loves sharing this passion with clients while imparting his knowledge on vineyard work and winemaking.
Qu’est ce qui te passionne le plus dans le monde du vin ?
I fell in love with wine at first sight then I started to love many different wines. How could this fermented vine grape juice taste like strawberry or cherry? What motivates my passion for the vine and wine sphere is that range of fragrances we manage to create from a single fruit into this beautiful drink.
Pourquoi avoir choisi ce domaine en particulier ?
I used to work as an executive in a French industry and could occasionally enjoy wines. I first self-taught some information but quickly felt so passionate about it that I knew it would be my future, as a professional. I decided to work it from the land to the glass. And did it. I spent three years as a moving vine & wine worker beside significant wine estates
Quelle est ton approche personnelle et comment se reflète-t-elle dans ton travail ?
I’ve been making wines for the last twenty years – as an employee – so my state of mind is the mindset of a winemaker. I want to explain the point and purpose of everything done in the process. My dearest wish is to explain the heritage behind every wine
Quel serait le cépage correspondant à ta personnalité, ton caractère ? Et pourquoi ?
Probably cinsault because it’s crunchy, deeper than what it seems and always light. As a red wine.
Une petite anecdote?
I’ve been running wine tours for four years now. Every time I try to tell people to spit out the wines they taste and succeed more or less. Once, a lady who never imagined such a thing was possible, told me at the end of the day : “thanks a lot, i feel so well, we tried so many wines and I feel so good, not dizzy at all !”
